ZDHC MRSL 3.1

logo Roadmap to Zero by ZDHC

ZDHC MRSL certification ensures that chemical formulations used by suppliers do not intentionally contain banned chemicals during production and manufacturing processes.

This certification is supported by the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero program, which enhances the input of MRSL Council experts. These experts independently and objectively evaluate proposed additions or revisions to the ZDHC MRSL list, ensuring that the standards are current and adhered to.

DSS - THE BEAMHOUSE PROCESS

PATENTED PROCESS

DSS Product Architecture is an innovative and sustainable technology developed to improve the standard Liming process in terms of reduction/ elimination of highly polluting substances while maintaining a very high quality of the leather, keeping in mind production KPI’s by completing the whole process 24 hours.

Several scale up trials, in a production environment, have proven the efficiency and versatility of its application, not only on specific breeds of raw material but also with different preservation methods. The aim of our DSS technology is to provide a better performance in the opening up and relaxation of the inner fiber structure, including an excellent hair removal as well as a complete cleaned grain from the natural pigment of the raw material, giving the flexibility of its utilization for premium end-uses like Nubuck, Anilines and Semi-Anilines, also when a Hair-saving processes in needed.

From the sustainability perspective, the DSS product architecture, prevents the usage of Sulfide and hydrosulfide derivatives products during the unhairing process, lowering your internal PPM targets of the wastewater, and a much safer work environment free from unpleasant smells and dangerous volatile gases H2S during de-liming and Pickling. Our studies suggest that the waste baths of our process have a high protein content, free from harmful and toxic substances and can therefore be exploited in other sectors without necessarily destined to the waste water treatment plant.

OTHER ADVANTAGES

LBF - WET WHITE SYSTEM

LBF wet white system is a cutting-edge biodegradable process boasting a low environmental impact in terms of low chloride and bisphenols value, it’s completely free from aldehydes, metals and vegetable tanning of any type, specifically designed for the new ecological needs required by the market.

It ensures a completely white leather that can be easily shaved. Thanks to its outstanding affinity to collagen, the COD rate at the end of tanning is very low; moreover, it features excellent thermal stability with a stable tanning over time. LBF SYSTEM with an application quantity ranging from 10 to 15% depending on the substrate is suitable for both bovine leather and goatskins. It provides a fine, firm and full grain leather, boasting an exceptional affinity to the dye: as a matter of fact, the dyed leathers, ranging from soft shades up to the most vibrant colours, are extremely uniform. Its reactivity in the retanning phase is also very good, thus ensuring very low levels of COD in the waste water. The strength of this system its versatility: starting from a white tanning free of aldehydes and metals, the leather, once tanned, can be used to make metal free products, as well can be modified with vegetable tannin in the retanning phase or with the addition of chromium or other metals, as required.

This process also guarantees excellent heat resistance, thus allowing leather to be processed with release paper or bycast systems.
